Ballymena United v Crusaders Preview

 Same venue, same teams but different competition as Ballymena United and Crusaders meet again only this time it's the Co.Antrim Shield Quarter Final (7.45pm) Days after drawing 1-1 in the Premiership they lock horns again in a competition Crusaders are going for a third win in a row. Ballymena Utd though will have different ideas and will want to progress and win the Shield for the first time in 3 years.

Stephen Baxter will assess fitness before naming his team but Jordan Owens and Billy Joe Burns will definitely miss out after being injured on Saturday. It's a game that the squad depth will be tested so we may see Sean 'O'Neill, Michael Ruddy, Jarlath O'Rourke, Rodney Browne, Kyle Owens, Paul McElroy, Tom Mathieson, Reece McGinley and Harry Robinson for example all getting game time. No matter who plays they will be ready to go for a Semi Final spot and we could see a decent eleven trying just that. Crusaders got through the last round with an 8-1 win against Sirocco Works with Jame McGonigle getting five on the night.

Ballymena Utd could also mix it up and start with a few fresh faces and players that need game time. Arguably Utd where the better side the second half on Saturday and David Jeffrey will use that as motivation to send his side out to win. Cathair Friel may start this one after coming off the bench on Saturday while several others could get valuable time on the pitch as well. Utd defeated Dundela 2-1 in the previous round but had to fight to win on that occasion with a late goal cliching it.

Admission is £10 Adult and £6 Concession with kixk off at 7.45pm and the match will be played to a finish on the night.
