Crusaders v Ballymena United Preview

Crusaders are at home this week in the Danske Bank Premiership when Ballymena United travel to Seaview (3pm).  Crusaders are on a high at the minute and on are on an unbeaten run while United have had a poor run by their standards which includes defeat in the Co.Antrim Shield Final on Tuesday night in injury time.

Crusaders will have new loan signing Cameron Dummigan avaialble for this game and we could see the right back thrown in right away but he may have to do with a place on the bench. Gerard Doherty will be between the posts and the back four that has played so well over the last month (Jordan Forsythe, Billy Joe Burns, Rodney Brown and Jarlath O'Rourke) could be the same again also. The midfield was again magnificent last week but Stephen may choose to make a slight tweak to introduce fresh legs. The partnership between Jordan Owens and Jamie McGonigle continues to prosper and the two should start again. Crusaders have not conceded a goal to date this month with five clean sheets. They have gone five clean sheets in a row twice before and both where in title winning seasons and both in January (75-76 & 94-95) so maybe that is an omen in itself for this year!!!

Ballymena United will be looking a "pick me up" after Tuesday night dramatic defeat to Cliftonville in the Shield Final and Crusaders will need to be alert to a backlash from that game. United will take heart from the last time the sides met at Seaview with United taking the three points with a late goal so they know they can beat Crusaders. Injuries have not helped David Jeffreys side this season and they currently sit in ninth position in the table. Adam Lecky will be the main threat while Leroy Millar and Scot Whiteside also need watched. Andrew Burns could miss after limping off in the final while Steven McCullough received a head injury and may also be unavailable.

So all set for the fifth meeting of these sides already this season and we want you there. £12 &  £8 admission to the game and we want you there right behind us. Come down early for a bit to eat and a few drinks before going into the ground and let the lads here your encouragement from the start. See you all there. Keep The Faith.
